Spider Crane with Hydraulic Fly Jib and Man Basket to UAE

Sep 15, 2026

A customer in the United Arab Emirates recently confirmed an order for a 12 ton Spider Crane equipped with a hydraulic fly jib and man basket. The customer is a Contract Manager working in the construction and industrial sector. His projects involve different types of structures, including steel foundations and wooden components, so he needed a crane that could handle both lifting and work-at-height tasks.

The project did not start with a fixed crane capacity. The required lifting height was the key point that shaped the final solution.

Lifting Requirements Changed with the Working Height

During the initial discussion, the customer explained that he needed to lift 500 kg at a working height of 10 meters. Based on this information, we discussed an 8-ton Spider Crane as a possible configuration.

The customer then clarified that the actual working height needed to reach 12 meters.

That changed the equipment selection. Rather than looking only at the 500 kg load, we considered the relationship between lifting capacity, working height, boom configuration, and the overall operating range. After reviewing these conditions, the customer decided to move forward with the 12 ton Spider Crane.

The final machine is an SS12.0 model with a hydraulic fly jib and man basket. It is designed to give the customer more room for high-level structural work while maintaining the lifting capability required for the project.

Built for Construction and Structural Work

This Spider Crane will be used on construction and industrial sites where materials may need to be positioned around steel or wooden structures.

The machine is equipped with both proportional control and wireless remote control. A display is integrated into the remote system so that the operator can keep track of important operating information.

The safety configuration is also extensive. It includes a torque display with fly jib data, a torque limiter, outrigger sensors, a three-turn winch warning, and a hook over-winding alarm. A hydraulic fly jib is supplied for jobs that require additional reach or more flexible positioning.

The customer also requested a man basket. This gives the machine another role on site when suitable access and work-at-height operations are required.

The engine is a Changchai diesel engine, while the electrical system is designed for 400V, 50Hz, 3-phase power.

Color and Branding Were Customized

The customer wanted a very specific appearance. The main boom is white, while the rest of the machine is blue. The blue color is RAL5002.

The customer's own logo will also be applied to the machine. For a contractor using lifting equipment across different projects, having its own branding on the machine makes it easier to manage the equipment on site.

These details were confirmed together with the technical configuration before production.

A Practical Approach to the CIF Request

The customer initially asked for a CIF quotation. We explained the current shipping situation and suggested updating the CIF freight cost after production was completed.

This approach allows the final freight quotation to be based on the actual finished machine and shipment arrangements rather than relying on an early estimate. The customer accepted this arrangement and agreed to proceed on that basis.

The order will be completed within 30 days and shipped to the UAE under FOB Qingdao Port terms. Payment is arranged as 50% T/T in advance and 50% T/T before shipment.

For this customer, the right Spider Crane was not simply a matter of choosing a larger rated capacity. The working height changed the equipment requirement, and the final configuration had to cover lifting, reach, control, and high-level work. After discussing these points in detail, the customer confirmed the 12-ton solution.

The result is a 12 ton Spider Crane configured around the actual needs of the construction site, rather than a standard machine selected only from a capacity table.
