Electrical Installation and Commissioning of Bridge Crane

Mar 21, 2024

In the construction of power plants, bridge crane are a widely used lifting equipment. Its frequent use, heavy workload, and high vibration result in a high failure rate. Scientific and reasonable construction methods are the key to ensuring installation quality during the electrical installation and commissioning process of bridge cranes. The installation of electrical equipment for bridge cranes and the laying of wires should be strictly carried out in accordance with the attached electrical schematic, wiring diagram, electrical equipment general diagram, and corresponding specifications.

Preparation work before installation

Before the electrical installation of the bridge crane, it is necessary to be familiar with the relevant electrical diagrams and technical conditions in detail, understand the interaction and control principles of each component. In order to quickly address any issues that may arise during installation and testing. Before installation, all electrical equipment and components should be cleaned and inspected. All electrical equipment and components should be defect free, operate flexibly, and there should be no jamming or loosening. The model, specifications, and contact closure sequence of electrical equipment and components must comply with the drawings.

Motor

Firstly, perform a general visual inspection by rotating the coupling and observing whether the rotor rotates flexibly. And measure its insulation resistance with a megohmmeter. If the stator is greater than 1.5 megaohms and the rotor is greater than 0.8 megaohms, it can be used. Otherwise, it should be dried. It can be placed in an oven or dried by introducing a low-voltage short-circuit current.

Electromagnet

During installation, it is necessary to check whether the moving parts are loose, skewed, or stuck. And the rust and other dirt on the moving parts and the contact surface of the magnet should be removed. There should be no gaps between the contact surfaces of the magnet during operation. If there are any gaps, they must be adjusted and cleared.

Linkage control panel or controller

The joint surface of each contact should be in line contact, with a pressure of about 10-17 N depending on the size of the contact, adjusted by the nut that presses the spring. Each wiring screw should be tightened and the contact should be good. The operating handle should be flexible and the gear position should be clear.

Resistor

The wiring of the resistor must be correctly connected according to the provided information. If it is found that the power of the electric motor is insufficient and the control handle cannot lift the rated load or start the large and small vehicles at the specified position, an inspection should be carried out. Firstly, check if there are any errors in the wiring of the resistor. For mechanisms driven by dual motors, the resistors used should be adjusted appropriately.
