10 Ton Jib Crane for Boat Handling at a Shipyard in Bulgaria

Oct 13, 2026

A customer working in the aerial work platform industry recently ordered a customized Jib Crane for a shipyard near the Black Sea. The customer is an intermediary who supplies equipment to end users and has clear requirements for lifting boats safely and efficiently.

The project called for more than a standard crane. The customer needed a 10-ton jib crane with a dedicated lifting beam for boats, specific lifting dimensions, and reliable components from a recognized brand. After confirming the technical details, we prepared a solution around the actual working conditions at the shipyard.

A Jib Crane Designed for Boat Lifting

The selected BZ Jib Crane has a rated lifting capacity of 10 tons and a 5-meter jib length. Its specified lifting height is 9 meters, including 7.5 meters above ground and 1.5 meters below ground.

The crane uses an A5 working class and a 380V, 50Hz, three-phase power supply. Operators can use either a pendant controller or wireless remote control, depending on the lifting task and their position around the vessel.

Since the equipment will work close to the water, the lifting arrangement needs to suit the boat's dimensions. The customer therefore requested a dedicated lifting beam with an adjustable length of 2–4 meters and an adjustable width of 1–2 meters. Two lifting slings are also included.

This arrangement gives the customer greater flexibility when handling boats of different sizes. The beam dimensions can be adjusted to suit the load, rather than relying on a fixed lifting attachment for every job.

SEW Gear Motors for Reliable Operation

The customer specifically requested SEW gear motors for all geared motor units. This requirement was confirmed as part of the technical configuration.

For lifting equipment used around a shipyard, dependable movement and consistent operation matter. The crane must handle the load in a controlled way while allowing the operator to position the boat carefully.

The customer also specified a yellow finish and requested that the crane carry no logos or markings. These details were recorded before production so that the finished equipment would match the customer's requirements.

A Solution Based on the Actual Application

The lifting beam was one of the most important parts of this project. A crane's rated capacity alone does not determine whether it is suitable for boat handling. The load dimensions, lifting points, sling arrangement, and available clearance must also be considered.

By confirming these requirements in advance, we could prepare a more suitable configuration for the customer's shipyard. This also helped clarify the scope of supply before manufacturing began.

For customers planning similar lifting work, a properly configured Jib Crane can provide a dedicated lifting point without relying on a larger general-purpose crane for every operation.

Production and Delivery Arrangements

The order is scheduled for completion within 20 working days. Shipment will be arranged by sea under CIF Burgas Port, Bulgaria terms. Payment is agreed at 50% T/T in advance and 50% T/T before shipment.

This project shows how a customized Jib Crane can be adapted to a specific application through careful selection of the crane dimensions, lifting beam, control options, and drive components.

For this shipyard customer, the goal was clear: obtain a 10-ton lifting solution that fits the working area and handles boats with the right accessories. By confirming the details before production, SEVENCRANE can deliver equipment that is better suited to the job rather than simply offering a standard crane.
