Overhead Crane and Steel Structure Workshop for Hong Kong

Jun 15, 2026

SEVENCRANE recently completed a comprehensive lifting and workshop solution for an engineering company in Hong Kong. The project included a customized SNHS European Double Girder Overhead Crane, complete runway rail system, conductor bar system, and a steel structure workshop building. By providing an integrated package, SEVENCRANE helped the customer simplify procurement, reduce project coordination efforts, and ensure compatibility between the crane system and the workshop structure.

The equipment was manufactured within 45 working days and delivered under CIF Hong Kong terms. This project demonstrates SEVENCRANE's ability to provide complete material handling solutions for engineering and industrial applications.

Project Background

The customer is an end user operating in the engineering industry. The initial inquiry was received in October when the customer contacted SEVENCRANE regarding a double girder overhead crane project. After establishing communication through WeChat, the customer provided detailed workshop drawings and requested a complete quotation.

During the early stage of the project, our sales and engineering teams worked closely with the customer to clarify technical requirements, including crane specifications, workshop dimensions, wind load requirements, and installation conditions. Since the customer also required a steel structure building, it was necessary to complete the structural design before finalizing the proposal.

After the preliminary design was completed, the steel structure drawings were submitted to the customer for review. Several modifications were requested, requiring our engineering department to revise and optimize the design multiple times. Once the revised drawings were approved, SEVENCRANE prepared the final commercial and technical proposal.

Project Configuration

European Double Girder Overhead Crane

The main lifting equipment supplied for this project was a customized SNHS European Double Girder Overhead Crane with the following specifications:

  • Model: SNHS
  • Working Duty: A5
  • Capacity: 20/5 Tons
  • Span: 11.5 m
  • Lifting Height: 9.689 m
  • Control Method: Wireless Remote Control
  • Power Supply: 220V, 60Hz, 3 Phase
  • Quantity: 1 Set

The crane was designed to provide efficient handling of heavy engineering components and industrial materials while ensuring smooth operation and precise load control.

Runway and Electrical System

The project also included:

  • P38 crane rails: 35 m × 2
  • 25 mm² conductor bar system: 35 m × 1
  • Rail accessories and installation components

These systems ensure reliable crane travel and stable power supply throughout the workshop.

Steel Structure Workshop

The workshop dimensions were:

  • Length: 35.87 m
  • Width: 14.07 m
  • Height: 12 m

The building was designed according to the customer's requirements and local environmental conditions, including a wind pressure requirement of 2.1 kPa, which is particularly important for projects in Hong Kong.

Unlike conventional workshop packages, the customer requested a unique building configuration:

  • Roof panels included
  • Upper wall panels installed to a height of 5.2 m
  • No doors or windows supplied

This customized design reduced unnecessary costs while meeting the operational requirements of the facility.

Engineering Collaboration and Design Optimization

One of the most important aspects of this project was the extensive engineering coordination.

After receiving the initial workshop drawings, SEVENCRANE's engineering team developed the first version of the steel structure design. The customer then proposed several modifications related to the building layout and operational requirements.

Our engineers promptly revised the drawings and provided updated versions for approval. Through multiple rounds of communication, the final design successfully met all technical and operational requirements.

This collaborative approach ensured that the workshop and crane system were perfectly matched before production began.

Building Customer Confidence

During the quotation stage, SEVENCRANE shared feedback and reference cases from previous steel structure projects, including a successful workshop project in Mexico. These references helped demonstrate our manufacturing capabilities and experience in delivering integrated solutions.

Although the customer expressed satisfaction with the proposed design, a challenge emerged during contract negotiations. The customer initially requested a 5% retention payment after receiving the goods. Since this payment structure was not consistent with SEVENCRANE's standard policy, both parties spent more than a week discussing alternative arrangements.

To facilitate the negotiation, Monica, acting as project manager, personally participated in discussions with the customer. Through professional communication and mutual understanding, both parties eventually agreed on a payment schedule of 40% advance payment, 57% intermediate payment against draft bill of lading, and 3% balance payment, allowing the project to move forward smoothly.

Conclusion

This Hong Kong project highlights SEVENCRANE's capability to deliver complete industrial solutions that combine lifting equipment and steel structure engineering. The customized SNHS European Double Girder Overhead Crane, integrated runway system, and specially designed workshop building provide the customer with a reliable, efficient, and safe working environment.

By combining professional engineering support, flexible customization, and strong project management, SEVENCRANE once again demonstrated its commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that meet the specific needs of customers worldwide.
